Gameplay and progression
AI Rogue is a deterministic browser roguelike inside AI OS. It combines seeded generated maps with a typed twelve-level authored run.
The authored run
Section titled “The authored run”| Depth | Level | Key arc |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Boot Sector | Learn Strike and Surge |
| 2 | Index Maze | Status pressure and vault choices |
| 3 | Kernel Arena | Objective and Kernel Sentinel pressure |
| 4 | Firewall Gauntlet | Heat lane and enemy ecology expansion |
| 5 | Archive Threshold | Model Vault entry and cache trail |
| 6 | Shard Drain Gallery | Resource-draining enemy pressure |
| 7 | Prism Approach | Vault preparation |
| 8 | Archon Crucible | Vault Archon boss |
| 9 | Canopy Ingress | Neural Canopy entry |
| 10 | Leak Lattice | Status trail pressure |
| 11 | Root Cascade | Final-route preparation |
| 12 | Sovereign Crown | Root Sovereign and final defense |
The content registry owns each level’s theme, music, ambience, enemy table, guarantees, objective, terminal, prefab, protocol, boss, and finale metadata. Out-of-range authored depths are rejected rather than recycled into unplanned content.
Core verbs
Section titled “Core verbs”- Move through a fog-of-war grid.
- Strike the faced tile without moving.
- Spend shards on Surge to hit adjacent enemies.
- Carry and use bounded single-use protocols such as Trace Lance, Phase Step, Patch Kit, Trace Map, and Signal Jammer.
- Inspect terrain, enemies, effects, equipment, and threats without spending a turn.
Tactical depth
Section titled “Tactical depth”Status effects, initiative meters, delayed sentry lines, locked vaults, cache chests, crash dumps, transient equipment, prefab encounters, objectives, biome pressure, and exclusive relic shrines combine through deterministic simulation rules.
Enemies include melee, ranged, swarm, thief, status, and boss behaviors. Vault Archon anchors depth 8; Root Sovereign owns the final depth and the survive-one-more-volley defense beat before victory.
Progression surfaces
Section titled “Progression surfaces”- Play owns the current run.
- Ledger explains and claims capped Insight Shard earnings.
- Loadout owns persistent classes, relics, and upgrades.
- Settings owns input, motion, audio, and reset choices.
Insight Shards are derived from bounded AI OS activity summaries and require a manual claim. Missing usage or pricing information removes only that source’s contribution; it does not become a penalty.
For persistence, audio, controls, and public-demo behavior, continue with State, audio, and accessibility.
